Has anyone used Sea Bands for motion sickness during travel?!

Question: Has anyone used Sea Bands for motion sickness during travel.?
My 4 year old daughter and I are taking the train for 15 or so hours.. Normally I just take some dramamine, but I may be pregnant, so the doc said NO this time.. Can my daughter and I get some sea bands for the trip.? Are they effective.?

Any advice from either an adult standpoint or how they worked on kids is appreciated.. Thanks!Health Question & Answer

Yes they work.. They work by pressing on an acupressure point that controls nausea, but as has been said, it can be tricky to get them in the right place..
If your little one gets hot, she might be tempted to mess around with the bands or take them off..
But if she's going to leave them be, they are great..
For you.? It might be worth taking some ginger tea in a flask and sipping at it.. Ginger is great for nausea..Health Question & Answer

Recently I went on vacation and being as how I usually get motion sickness I tried them - they helped me in the car (about 7 hour trip) however the next day I boarded the ship and tried the Sea Bands again, along with the patch you put behind your ear for added protection - neither worked.. I was sick the entire 5 days of the cruise and had to take the medicine that the ship hands out and it knocked me out.. I think that the other people are correct - you definitely have to know the exact place to put the bands, but I think they also work like a placebo - if you believe it, they will work.. By the way, everyone I talked to before I considered trying them were split down the middle - it worked for half of them, the other half it didn't.. Hope this helps!Health Question & Answer

Yes, they work!

We lived in Italy for 2 years (read: very hilly, winding roads- not a straight road in the country) and my daughters ( and wife) used these all the time for our travels( car).. You have to find the right location above your wrist where the wrist band applies pressure .. Not sure I understand the science of it but it worked for us! Good luck!Health Question & Answer
