I find Tylenol is safer.. Advil, an NSAID(non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug) can cause inflammation of your stomach that leads to pain and other problems.. Tylenol will not cause you any problems unless you overdose it.. Then it can damage your liver..

Tylenol reduces fever and pain and is well-tolerated by almost everyone.. This medicine is safe even for babies..

Advil is a lot more likely to cause some adverse reactions.. However, it does reduce fever, swelling and pain.. It is good for problems caused by inflammations like sprains, fevers and such..

Tylenol - acetaminaphen

Advil and Motrin - inbuprofen in different brand names

Alever - naproxen sodium - same class of drugs as advil - NEVER use with advil/motrin

Aspirin - same kind of drug as advil/motrin/aleve - do NOT use with these - BAD NEWS

You can SAFELY use Tylenol and Advil or Tylenol and Aspirin at the same time.. They work in different ways in your body and will not cause an overdose.. Be very careful with all medicines! (please!)

ONE last tip - Acetaminaphen and Ibuprofen are the GENERIC names of Tylenol and Advil.. Buying the generics of these will save you BIG money.. Name brands of these medicines are NOT more effective, just more expensive!Health Question & Answer

Well...... if you have a fever/headache Tylenol (acetominophen) would be better.. It pretty much thins your blood so it passes through your veins easier, which is why you have a headache in the first place..

For muscle aches and pains, Advil is better (ibuprofen).. It is an anti-inflammatory so it relaxes your muscles so they don't hurt as much.. However, taking advil a LOT can hurt your stomach so I wouldn't take a lot daily unless you plan on hurting your stomach (no fun, I know from experience)..

If you have joint pain, Aleve (naproxen) is better since it is a joint pain reducer.. It takes longer to kick in and you take it less often than advil or tylenol since it works for longer in the day..Health Question & Answer

Tylenol...... Since you mentioned having cold and flu, sometimes stomach upset are common with those illnesses.. Tylenol is very effective & much easier on the stomach.. However, with a migraine I would recommend Ibuprofen (or brand name Advil)
*You may also want to consider a DayQuil/NyQuil combo pack.. (Acetaminophen -or brand name Tylenol is one of the ingredients)
It works great especially with colds & the flu & fevers!

I know this from my own experience, and also from my friend (A Doctor's Daughter)

Good Luck! :)

PS-Tylenol..com and Advil..com both have $1 off couponsHealth Question & Answer

Tylenol.. It's paracetemol and it will bring a fever down as well as help a headache.. Advil would be good if you have aches and pains.. You can take both at the same time (say one of each)..

But people with migraines don't go on the computer.. They lie in a quiet dark room.. Don't exaggerate, what you have is a headache, perhaps a bad headache, but that in no way equals a migraine..Health Question & Answer

Advil cold and flu......I have tried it several times and it's effective.. If your headache is currently killing you (it's normal to have migraine attacks once you've got colds and flu), wash your head and face with cold cold water.. It would be great to keep an icepack on your head and stay in a dark room.. Health Question & Answer

I personally like Advil better since Tylenol has always had so many product re-calls in its lifetime.. Health Question & Answer

Motrin Tylenol and Advil gets you constipated.. Health Question & Answer
