Scalp treatment, teatree oil?!

Question: Scalp treatment, teatree oil.?
my scalp has broken out into small sores.. I need to treat it fast because I have an EEG in a few weeks which require electrodes to be place on the scalp to read brain waves.. I need to have the EEG but my scalp needs to be clear.. Will tea tree oil treat this kind of problem.? Its expensive so I want to know before buying it.. I think the outbreak is from an enviromental or food allergy.. Its not my shampoo or a bug infestation.. I'll use OTC or prescription chemical based stuff as a last resort..Health Question & Answer

Answers:
To dilute tea tree oil, add it to your current shampoo..
put the regular amount into your hand and add three to five drops, mix it in your hand or if you prefer, in a small cup..
What will happen is the tea tree oil will break down the shampoo it it will become more liquidy, but it will still work like shampoo.. It may give less suds depending on the shampoo.. If your shampoo gets too watery when you add the tea tree oil you can suds up your hair with your shampoo first, then add drops to your head and re-massage in the tea tree oil to your scalp..

also if you need to apply it several times a day without shampooing, you can get pure jojoba oil and dilute the tea tree oil that way.. Just add about 2 drops per tea spoon to the jojoba oil, then apply to your sores..

tea tree oil will not mix with water..

There is tea tree oil shampoo available and it is noticeably less expensive than buying the oil.. you can find it at natural food stores I've seen it at Longs and Walgreens, the best brand is JASON..

I have put full strength tea tree oil directly on sores and had no problems.. In fact when i have a bad sore, i put full strength tea tree oil on it every 4 hours and it clears up fine.. There is a warm/tingly almost minty feeling on your skin for a few seconds, and if you find you can't tolerate it, I would recomend diluting the tea tree oil.. But in general any discomfort lasts about 30 seconds and then theres a refreshing cool feeling that actually relieves pain in the sore..

Best of luck!Health Question & Answer

Yes, it should help a lot, but be sure to dilute it and don't use full strength.. Lavender essential oil is also good.. Both are excellent to have on hand for all sorts of things, anyway.. It's a good investment.. Health Question & Answer
