Conventional medicine is fantastic for emergency situations and acute problems but can be very poor at managing chronic conditions..
People with chronic conditions often find alternatives more effective..
If I broke my leg I wouldn't be going to a homoeopath or an acupuncturist, but i would certainly consider it if I had a chronic condition such as psoriatic arthritis and had already tried the allopathic stuff which hadn't worked..

- people are dissatisfied with conventional medicine and with medical doctors
- alternative methods are effective
- alternative methods have no side effects
- alternative practitioners listen and give you their full attention instead of typing or reading your files on the computer while you talk..

I am not talking about products and remedies.. I am talking about Alternative Methods.. And they have no side effects! The asker asked about "alternative medicine" (= methods), not "alternative medicineS" (= products or remedies).. There's a big difference that you obviously missed!

A lot of people find herbal medicine less evasive and not as hard on the body.. Modern doctors over prescribe Pharmaceutical drugs and they are very expensive.. On the contrary herbal drugs just like pharmaceutical drugs DO have side effects if not taken properly, or if taken in excess, or if you have an allergic reaction!!!!! but if taken properly they are far less harm full to people.. and they are packed with vitamins and minerals another plus for natural medicinesHealth Question & Answer
