It's different for a lot of people.. Really, it only damages your lungs.. But it's nowhere near as much damage as smoking cigarettes can.. You most likely wont even get lung cancer.. I've been smoking for maybe about 3 years now and the only thing I've noticed is that I get asthmatic when I play certain sports or run too fast/long..

One thing I hear A LOT is that it damages brain cells.. I don't believe this is true after doing a lot of research myself.. My grades haven't changed..

I don't believe weed is a gateway drug either.. I have a friend who is going to be 19 in 2 months and has been smoking since he was 12 and has been offered all kinds of drugs (coke, ecstacy...... etc) and has turned them all down..Health Question & Answer

Well, for starters, it can do a number of things.. Long term, which you qualify for, it starts destroying your short term memory, and you start to act more slowly.. You won't notice it, but others will.. You will talk slower, and act slower than other people.. Your brain can take longer to process things, making your responses in conversations take a while as well..

Yes, weed eventually starts killing certain cells in your brain, and it will cause damage.. The only way to stop the damage, is stop smoking..Health Question & Answer

Consumer Reports did a great article using data from various studies on this subject in 1997..

"The evidence is convincing that long-term regular use of marijuana exposes users to significant risk of lung damage.. Many may also suffer subtle but measurable cognitive and motor impairments that persist for weeks after use stops.. And, of course, nonmedical use of marijuana is illegal everywhere.. However, compared with other drugs of abuse such as tobacco, alcohol and cocaine, marijuana is much less addictive, if at all, and there's no danger of death from an overdose.. "Health Question & Answer

nobody agrees on the psychological effects.. from what i hear it makes you lazy and stuff but its nothing awful.. however, the real damage from marijuana comes from the tar.. my high school health text claims that a joint has 20 times more tar than a cigarette.. it most likely lacks the carcinogens however, at least for the most part.. i hear eating it is actually pretty healthy though..Health Question & Answer

i doubt that it's actually going to do any real damage to your brain in the long run......but it might **** up your lungs.. that's what i've wondered about you know......if it actually does mess up your lungs that much.. like you don't want to get lung cancer or anything.. but i think it's rare.. Health Question & Answer

It totally screws you up.. Pot is a gateway drug, most of the time it will lead to harsher drugs and eventually death.. Getting high releases endorphins.. Find a natural high instead.. They really are out there.. Hiking, music, and exercise for example..Health Question & Answer

Long term use of marijuana will destroy your mind.. Just find a surviving hippie and ask him.. If he can still speak in full sentences he'll tell you it wasn't worth it..Health Question & Answer

weed is horrible for you!! it is worse than ciggarettes and you have a good chance getting of lung cancer!Health Question & Answer
