Try these home remedies for sinus problems:

Press for 15 to 30 seconds your sinuses with your thumbs firmly on both sides of your nose. Hold, release, and then repeat. This action will temporarily relieve sinusitis pain because it brings a fresh supply of blood to the sinus.

Mix 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda in one cup of warm water; and fill an ear syringe and squirt the mixture up in the nose.

Mix one teaspoon of uniodized salt and 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder Place it in a nasal inhaler.

Irrigate the sinuses with a salt water solution in order to clear the nasal passages of mucus.

My husband uses this to keep from getting bronchitis, and I use to to cure sinus infections. THere are many kinds of bacteria that live in the sinuses, and this gets rid of all the bad ones!.This is the only thing that really helped me --- my Dr. told me about a sinus wash that will kill bacteria.
you need

distilled water
sea salt
liquid chlorophyll and colloidal silver from the health food store.
in a glass mix 1/4 cup water with a pinch of salt and heat to body temperature.
add 5 drops each silver and chlorophyll and mix.
using a large dropper (like one used for infant medication) drop 2 full droppersfull into one side of the nose while laying down.
Turn the head and let it drain out the other nostril. Be sure to have paper towels handy.
The silver kills the bacteria and there are several hundred kind that can live in the sinus cavities and anti biotics don't get rid of them all.
Do this twice a day for a week, mixing up the mixture fresh each time.
Then do it once a week for maintenance.
There is nothing in this that will hurt you, and it cured me.
I do not have to take claritin, or antibiotics anymore.

There is a over the counter nose drops called J's Nose Drops.. its great! Burns like crazy at first but clears and gets rid of infection and sinus problems.

I had an obvious sinus infection and went to a doctor (I don't have medical insurance nor do I want it). The doctor charged me $100.00 for the visit and then more money for checking swabs etc. Then my prescription was for 2 times a day for 10 days.. WOW that prescription cost over $150.00. I told the Pharmacy to not fill it that I would check with my Doc. When I took the prescription back to the Doctor asking her to change to a generic or something cheaper she wouldn't do it. I handed her the paper and said.. Here keep it!! and walked away. Ive never been back to that doctor.

I went to Sun Harvest/Wild Oats and looked for J's Nose Drops. I had used them before and knew how they can hurt at first. So I got a nettie pot and the J's Nose Drops. I had the infection gone in a short period of time. They have iodine in them which I knew my mom had used on me as a little kid. She would smear the iodine on my arm which was totally runny due to Excema and I would scream.. However the next day the slimy/runny breakout had quit itching and was healing up.

Now they take Iodine of the shelf as much as possible saying people are allergic to it. SURE they are.. BS Iodine is in many of the foods you eat as a natural chemical and in some vitamins. I think it works too well and so the medical pharmacy's dont' want the competitionHealth Question & Answer

I make a saline solution using a small amount of salt (eg, 1/2 tsp) dissolved into water. Then, I use a 2ml syringe that I stole from work and squirt it into my nose and 'snort' the saline solution. Sounds gross but it is a tried and tested way.

I sometimes get Nasonex, an anti-inflammatory spray from doctor occasionally.Health Question & Answer

Salt water. sniff it up your nose , or use a dropper.
also, as crazy as this sounds, try it, it works..lie on your bed on your back with your head hanging off the edge towards the floor..then as nasally as possible keep repeating the letter "K". Surprisingly, this will vibrate your palate ( roof of your mouth) and thus vibrate your sinuses and help unblock them. If you are concerned you'll look like an idiot trying that, then alternate hot and cold compresses across your upper cheek bones. Good Luck, hope you feel betterHealth Question & Answer

essential oils to breath are eucalyptus and Breath-easy.

This last one is a mixture

Put a bowl filled to half way with hot water and add a drop of either and put a towel over your head and sniff in the vapour. If the heat gets too much simply come off the towel and sniff fresh air and get back underneath.

I put Breath-easy under my pillow each night [I have an allergy to traffic fumes] and it works wonders.

If you want to know where to get it email me but eucalyptus is easily available.
