Is it safe to use these OTC pain patches while I am pregnant?!

Question: Is it safe to use these OTC pain patches while I am pregnant.?
They are called Tiger Balm Pain Patches. The ingredients are camphor, menthol and capiscum. The doctor tells me to ask the pharmacist, the pharmacist tells me to ask the doctor. I called the company and they told me as long as I use no more than 1 a day they are safe.

I am not sure what to believe. I dislocated a shoulder about a year ago and these are the only thing that helps the pain when it flares up. I am 12 weeks pregnant and haven't used one in months.

Thanks for your help.Health Question & Answer

It seems to me that they should be fine to use during pregnancy, as the patches are external and only have a localized effect. However, I am not your physician and I don't have any idea of your health history so no one can tell you except for your ob or physician whether they are fine for you to use.

The purpose of these oils [camphor, menthol, and capsicum] are increase blood flow to the area, thereby warming the area and relieving pain locally. Health Question & Answer
