Question: A question about Clindamycin and Colitis.?
I had to take Clindamycin 300mg for 1 week and I've been experiencing those syptoms of "Psuedomembranous Colitis" like watery stool, stomach cramps, etc.
What happens if I don't treat it.?

Tell your doctor about it and stop the Clindamycin.
You don't mention why you were put on it in the first place, but it isn't a first line antibiotic because of that very risk.
PC can be a very debilitating problem, though if you are young and otherwise healthy you should make an uneventful recovery.
It can be quite serious in the frail elderly.

Diarrhea and stomach cramps are side effects of all antibiotics. It will go away once you are through with your Clindamycin cycle.Health Question & Answer
