Vicodin and Nyquil? ?!

Lately I have not been able to sleep at all. I currently take vicodin to help me manage physical pain i get due to a disorder...keyword...."manage." I still get pain, but it's more of the annoying and nagging pain when I'm on Vicodin, so it's a 100 times better, but i can't sleep at night because of it. I'm seriously only averaging maybe 3 to 4 hours a night. Before I set an appointment to see my doctor and cough up more money for my co-pay, can anybody here tell me if there are any dangerous side effects if i take Nyquil to help me sleep while i'm Vicodin.?Health Question & Answer

Taking Nyquil and Vicodin is like taking Vicodin with alcohol. It's a bad idea - seriously. Add to that the fact that Vicodin contains acetominophen (Tylenol) and Nyquil contains acetominophen as well.
Too much acetominophen + alcohol = LIVER DAMAGE.

It is not a good idea to take Vicodin and Nyquil. First of all Vicodin is an addictive medication, should be prescribed by your Doctor. Taking with Nyquil means you are adding alcohol to Vicodin. It is bad combination AND too much Acetaminophen (Tylenol) would harm your liver. Some people take Benadryl at bed time . This is Over The Counter (OTC) medication .Health Question & Answer
