OK So one time this girl was staying at my house and she was into chinese medicine and I had cramps and she gave me this thing that looked like a giant piece of black chalk or something, and you light it on fire and it burns slowly and you just let the smoke pass by your uterus area. Do you know what this is called and where I can get it.?

I bet I will not get an answer to this question...Health Question & Answer

It does sound very interesting buddy but unfortunately i haven't heard of it either ..... sorry about that.

Many of the cramping, bloating, crying spells, depressive symptoms when we are on our menses stem from magnesium not being in ample enough supply in our bodies........... yep, magnesium deficiency causes many of the symptoms and will quite quickly knock cramping, nausea and vomiting etc. on the head. So try eating more foods rich in magnesium and see whether that quells the pain and discomfort for you.

foods rich in magnesium are ~ leafy and green vegies, wholegrain breads and cereals, ground up nuts and seeds (ground up to aid in digestion of same).............. cold water fresh fishes such as tuna, salmon, sardines and whiting and bananas too are rich in magnesium, so eat a banana hun.... actually cold water fishes are also rich in essential fatty acids which will help level out your mood and stress levels and nourish your brain and nervous system ...... green vegies like broccoli, bok choy, spinach do the trick for me.

magnesium is known as the antistress mineral and foods rich in magnesium will increase the amount of hydrochloric acid inyour tummy and help to relieve constipation as well ..... they will also resolve an acid tummy and help you deal with stressy life situations a lot better.

? magnesium rich foods will also do a good job of relieving depression and the blues ?

Take a good quality multi B complex supplement also to assist in a healthy nervous, immune and digestive system and to combat some of the stress of being on your menses. Get one that includes all the B's ie ~ B1, B2, B3, B5, B6 andB12 as they work best synergistically (together) ?

To alleviate any excessive bleeding go get yourself some organic loose leaf nettle tea from your local health food store. Simply put 2 teaspoons full into a teapot and fill with hot water and leave to brew for 10 - 15 minutes.

Nettle is an herb very high in vitamin K, which guards against excessive bleeding. Nettle improves kidney function neutralizes uric acid, preventing its crystallization, aiding in its elimination from the system, thus relieving gout and arthritis. Nettle is useful as a tea for anemic children, due to its nutritive value....... so will also increase your energy levels... Nettle is also high in minerals such as iron, calcium, sulfur, sodium, copper, manganese, chromium, and silicon. Nettle is also used as an astringent to help stop bleeding and to reduce menses flow. Nettle is also a blood purifier and assists in lowering blood pressure and is wonderfull for bolstering hair growth.

Please ensure that you drink loads of fresh filtered water as Nettle Tea is also a natural diuretic .... nothing substitutes for water.

Drink at least 2 - 3 litres of water daily.... you'd be amazed at how being just a little dehydrated can affect your mood and energy levels.

Health Question & Answer

Well, since nobody has answered yet, I'll toss in my 2 cents.
It seems like an odd thing that would help with cramps because the smoke of it passed by your uterus... that sounds like mental suggestion to work. Granted, it might be real... there's lots of stuff out there that we don't understand.
What I can tell you is what I know has been proven to work. For general cramps, there's an herb called Crampbark that helps a lot of people (men and women) worldwide. Or you could also try one of a few natural supplements that help with hormonal support (which help a lot of women with "monthly issues"). Some of the most popular ones are Dong Quai, Black Cohosh, Vitex (also called Chasteberry), Wild Yam, Damiana Leaf, Motherwort, GLA (Gamma Linolenic Acid, commonly in Borage Oil and Evening Primrose Oil), and some Soy germ products.
Good luck!
