Question: Alternate cure for cronic consipation.?
My daughter is three years old. She always is constipated. Her doctor tells me to give her Exlax and then she gets runny stools for a few days. We are vegans and she eats many whole grains already. Any other ideas to regualate her bowels.?Health Question & Answer

first) make sure she is hydrating enough (urine should be clear)
water water water, fresh fruit - MELLONS and BERRYS will help too
second) feed her "old fashion" oats(the kind that cooks in 5 mins, not instant)daily.
sweeten to taste
third) raisins or dates or prunes (bananas may make her constipated)

Exlax is way too harsh for a 3yr. old to be taking. What I did for my kids when they were little was went to the pharmacy and bought some suppositories. What also worked was a warm beverage, like hot coco, or warm milk & honey. I hope I've been some help, good luckHealth Question & Answer

Avoid bananas, they're bad for the intestines - it's the potassium...
