Answers:
My Chinese doctor treats me with acupuncture. I am very happy with the outcome and have been seeing her for my health needs for the last eight years. Treatments cost about $40 USD for her. Some may charge more.
I am not aware of specific channel interruptions that relate to insomnia. So I might not start with acupuncture for insomnia. There is a very nice herb that I have used for times when my mind was racing or worrying to help me sleep. It is called zuan zao ren (Pinyin mandarin name) or the roasted seeds of Zizyphus spinosa. I boil about 10 grams in a liter of water along with a little licorice root to make a tea. Boil it for about 20 minutes. Then drink the tea. Larger doses may be administered for a few days at a time, but beware of short term memory losses that I have experienced when using it for weeks at a higher dosage, say of 30 grams at a time. Blood pressure may go down slightly and things should not be as worrysome as before. You should sleep well. One pound of zuan zao run, enough to last for months, should run about $20. The licorice root may be priced similarly.Health Question & Answer
