Question: Can you over-dose with tums or pepto.?
I always thought that you cant... i know you can with stuff like aleve, or advil or tylenol, but what about pepto or tums.?
i never thought of them as real medicine...Health Question & Answer

Answers:
They're not "real medicine".

They are either bases or alkaline substances, for the most part, to counter increased stomach acid production.

I don't think you'll die, but you might want to keep some lemon juice close by, if you try to OD on them, to bring your pH levels back into a neutral state.

Health Question & Answer

mm yea I suppose you could, but it would take a tremendous amount. It would be a calcium carbonate overdone, but I don't know what that would specifically do other than mess up your pH levels. You could overdose on almost anything. Carrots for example by beta-carotine overdose...Health Question & Answer

They are real medicine, and thinking of them as anything but is a seriously dangerous attitude.

Anyways, I'm not 100% sure. I think that if you take too much, then your body will just reject it, in the form of Vomit. Again, I can't be 100% sure.Health Question & Answer

YES. All those things have "fillers" and if you take too much of anything the fillers alone are enought to harm you. Fillers help deliver the drug. so most people ignore them, but of themselves, too much is harmful.Health Question & Answer

I don't know if you can overdose, but if you take too much of it, your body will get immune to it and it won't help you feel better.Health Question & Answer

You can over-dose on anything. Everything is poisonous to a point. For example the human body can over dose on water, although it would take an extreme amount. Health Question & Answer

Any overdose results in death.

overdose of water could even kill you because your cell cant handle it
and the cells die and you die.

no over dose will ever do good for you.Health Question & Answer

Yes you can.

And why wouldn't you think of them as "real" medicine.?.? It"s medicine!!! Just because you can get them over the counter doesn't make them any less effective (or dangerous, if you take too much).Health Question & Answer

You can but it would be very hard to. Espicially tums becausew they are just calcium. An overdose would occur if you took a lot of them every day for a long time.Health Question & Answer
