Question: Boost my immune system, Tips.?
I want to boost my immune system as lately I am getting a lot of colds/flu's. I am a vegetarian and generally have a good diet and I exercise regularly.
Is there anything that I should add to my diet.?
Any vitamins or super foods or anything.?
Anything that will give my immune system a boost.?

Provided you are healthy, and maintain a good diet and get regular exercise, there is nothing you can take to boost the immune system. If anyone says something will "boost the immune system", ask them which part of the immune system and what is the mechanism - they won't have an answer for you. The immune system is extremely complex, and you just can't boost it like a muscle. "Boost You Immune System" is a marketing ploy only.

not only aren't there any "immu8ne boosters you shouldn't want them anyway. The human immune system is an amazingly engineered/balanced system. do a Little browsing around the web looking at autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis, lupus,and the others. It is ugly when the immune system starts attacking us. you are a human being. that is why you get colds, not some immune suppression. Are you having any diseases usually associated with AIDS,like pcp,CMV,TB, Kaposi's sarcoma.?

This is not true. Zinc containing supplements taken early in the course of a cold can minimally shorten symptom duration. far from kicking the colds butt, and no evidence that zinc is an immune stimulant

Stop being afraid of germs. Washing your hands all the time, taking showers too much, etc etc. You are creating an artificially "clean" environment by washing to much that when you actually get exposed to something, it makes you sick.Health Question & Answer

1. Drink lemon juice in water, or add it to you tea or something
2. try to find herbal supplements
3. try to sleep more b/c without it ur body feels more weak and wears down yours body's defenses
4. Eat protein like beans, whole grain, nuts, fish, and vegetables b/c it helps build up your immune system
5. dont drink coffee its been said that it can harm ur immune system
6. take vitamins C, eat alot of blueberries, strawberries,brocolli(dark colored fruits) with lots of antioxidants.
7. vitamin E has antioxidant, zinc, and Echinacea

i always take one echinacea capsules and it really helps ... you can find them at drugstores
