Is it safe to swallow salicylic acid 0.6%?!

Question: Is it safe to swallow salicylic acid 0.6%.?
I just realized theres some of it in my liquid and powder foundations, both 0.6% and its hard to apply it without getting it on my lips, which i then eat or drink. So im sure its entered my body quite a few times. What are the side effects of swallowing it.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
it is used in many cosmedics.

though, to answer your question... it depends on the quantity. 0.6% of 10 mL of many toxic or dangerous to imbibe substances won't do sh!t.

but 0.6% of a few gallons of those same chemicals would likely kill you.

in terms of cosmedics.. you're find. you could prolly eat the whole tube, and get mildly sick, but you prolly wont die.

why would they make lip balm taste so good if you weren't allowed to try a taste from time to time.?.?.? it just wouldn't make sense man.

and for foundations... im not sure about make-up (im a guy), but i think i know what foundation is... and it'd kinda be hard to get alot on your lips.. especially with care. but, even if you do, i'd put money on you surviving.

you're fine. don't worry.Health Question & Answer

Ask yourself this... does 0.6% of salicylic acid seems more dangerous than 0.6% of pure acid.?

If it is, then no.

If it isnt, find out what the salicylic composition is made out of. And if 0.6% of that modified acidic substances hold any dangerous material for the human body.Health Question & Answer

you need to have a bit more control over your makeup. how is foundation getting on your lips.? anyway, you're fine. that tiny amount isn't going to do anything.Health Question & Answer

Unless you have some kind of allergy to aspirin then there should be absolutely no problem at all. Salicylic acid is just plain everyday aspirin.Health Question & Answer
