Question: Should I keep taking vitex even though I'm in a bad mood and have lots of acne that's unusual.?
I started taking it so my periods would be better and improve fertility. I've been off birth control for 7 months. I've gained 7 lbs since and once I started taking vitex almost 2 weeks ago and I've lost all libedo, had a lot of cramping and and having a lot of uncommon acne where I normally don't get it on my face. Am I finally getting rid of the birth control and it's detoxing through my face etc or should I stop taking it.? We've only tried to conceive 2 x.Health Question & Answer

thats strange. vitex has helped me so much, no PMS or acne whatsoever. read the ingredients and make sure thats the only ingredient. it doesn't take your body 7 months to release toxins. if the problem persists,you should try another brand of vitex. When you stop taking the pill, the hormones are out of your body within a few days. That's why you have to take it religiously every day if you want to prevent pregnancy. The hormones are long gone, it just sometimes takes a while after that before you ovulate again (weeks for most women, but months for some).
I would certainly stop the Vitex if none of this was occurring before you took it. If you have only tried to conceive twice, there is no reason to believe you will have problems that require fertility assistance yet.
