Is it safe to take folic acid?!

Question: Is it safe to take folic acid.?
I'm not trying to get prego or anything. Haha. My boss told me that women should be taking it anyway because we don't get enough in our diets. She also said that it helps with your skin and hair. Which is the main reason I want to take it. So, will that be ok.? I don't want to get pregnant. And I'm not planning on having sex till I'm married so I'm safe there. ; ) Just curious about the hair and skin stuff. Health Question & Answer

B vitamins feed the nerves and have a profound effect on mental and emotional stability. Stress, medications, sugars, and alcohol all rob the body of B vitamins. B-Complex helps with: anti-stress, headaches, PMS, converts carbohydrates, fats and protein into energy, healthy hair, skin, and nails. also reduces cravings of chocolate, caffeine and sugar.
