Question: Which foods help promote healing.?
I tore a ligament in my knee and want to do everything to speed up the healing process. Does anyone know which foods are best or even what else I can do to move my recovery along a little bit quicker. I am already resting, icing, and elevating it as well as keeping my knee in a wrap. In general you'll want to avoid to much caffeine as it can increase inflammation.
As most everyone else has said fatty oils such as Omega-3 from Fish is said to help (the research is still out on much of this don't forget).
You may want to increase your protean as well, and WATER you really want to make sure you're getting enough water its one of the most important things needed for healing.

There are oils than can contribute to lowering cholesterol but in the end its up to each individual to double thing what they put in their mouths.
As far as your knee goes, its called rest. When you are ready you can always do physio.
