It's amazing how much misinformation there is about psychedelics.

Both psilocybin (mushrooms) and LSD come from the same chemical family (tryptamines). It is impossible to overdose on them, so both are physically safe. Some that study energy work, however, claim that LSD depletes your spiritual energy, which if abused can lead to depression later on in life. Some purists would prefer mushrooms over LSD because it is natural.

As for psychological safety, it depends on the user. Everyone responds differently to psychedelics, and they are by far the most subjective class of drugs out there. To some people mushrooms is qualitatively stronger than LSD (not quantitatively). But more often than not, LSD is much stronger to people than mushrooms. Most people have more trouble adjusting to LSD than with mushrooms. Mushrooms last about 3-6 hours, LSD about 10-14 hours.
LSD and mushrooms have very different effects on the body and mind. The mushrooms experience happens because psilocybin, the active ingredient in mushrooms, binds directly to your serotonin receptors. LSD, however, completely leaves your body in about 1 hour, and the other 10-12 hours is a catalyst reaction in your brain (which may be why it has more persisting after-effects). I just don't understand how someone can treat all psychedelics the same. If all of them are supposed to mimic psychosis, then psychosis is a very broadly defined term (just to clarify, I don't think psychosis and psychedelics have much in common except that both produce hallucinations).
Mushrooms tend to have more of an emotional/intuitive aspect to the trip, where you feel more and experience things as a whole. LSD tends to have more of a cognitive aspect to the trip, where you think more object-oriented and logical.

I also love the fact that everyone groups every class of drugs together (except for alcohol of course), and calls them all bad. What happened to society's analytical abilities.? or are we just too scared to think for ourselves.?Health Question & Answer

LSD is Lysergic acid diethylamide
Shrooms are Psilocybin
They're not the same but they are both hallucinogens.
The effects of LSD lasts longer and could be more dangerous than shrooms since it is mixed with chemicals like PCP.
Since LSD lasts longer, that's probably why it costs a little more than shrooms.
Health Question & Answer

they are both UNSAFE! Don't do it man bad idea.

The effects are the same. LSD (from my experience) is a liquid form that can be put in drinks or on little stamps. Shrooms are hallucinagin mushrooms, I guess a natural plant.

Again neither are safe

Health Question & Answer

LSD is way scarier and dangerous.
Both are bad, because when you're hallucinating you don't always know what you're doing.Health Question & Answer
