Question: Another relaxation question: How can I relax and be stress free.?
I'm a 15 yr old and with all the stress going around, I'm tryng to teach myself how to kick back and go with the flow. Solutions.?Health Question & Answer

I love this question, because everyone can benefit from some good relaxation techniques. I could search online for some tips, but chances are you've already done your research, so I'm going to give you some idea's that work for me.

1. Whenever in a stressful situation, ask yourself one question. Can I change what happened or prevent something that's going to happen anyway.? If no - remind yourself that you've done everything you could and it's out of your hands.

2. Meditation. Yes, it's difficult - but you can get the same effect by simply closing your eyes and allowing yourself some quiet time. Focus on your breathing and don't let your mind shift.

3. Exercise. It's known for releasing stress and clearing your mind - all good stuff!

4. Sleep. You need at least 8 hours of solid sleep to feel your best. Maybe more. Personally, I need 9. Without proper sleep, life becomes a big headache.

5. Food. Did you know that particular foods reduce stress.? Porridge, turkey, oranges, bananas, wholemeal bread, white fish, water, almonds, prunes and tea! Eat up!

6.Finally, you need an outlet. Maybe it's sports, maybe it's a video game. Reading, writing, music....The list goes on. I'm sure you have a hobby - probably a few. Sadly most of us don't give our hobbies the time they deserve. Make sure that you get at least 1 hour to yourself everyday.

Hopefully my tips will help you. If not, maybe you have more going on than you seem to be letting on. In this case, find someone you can confide in - a friend, family member...even a professional.

Other last minute stress busters I'm going to throw out at you are:
Lavender scents (candles etc.)
Camomile tea
Get organized
Get a massage

You can take up yoga! If there's a gym in your area teaching yoga, then it's ideal to join such a club. Or if none, then you could buy books on yoga (start with physical yoga first or Hatha Yoga, and proceed later on to other types) and choose the simple and illustrated ones. If you could not find them, then consult the Internet. There are millions of subjects about yoga in the Net and you could buy some online books on the matter. Select a book written by Yogi Vithaldas since it has good illustrations and simple explanations, or select what you like.

I am recommendding yoga because it has helped me de-stress my life and has given me many dividends in terms of good health, peace of mind, happiness, prosperity and success.

Try going swimming, or join a gym with a workout program for someone your age.....or take up acting where you can release all your frustrations...or join a sport you would enjoy...touch rugby is fun or water polo! Youth Group at your local Baptist Church is a great thing to join also, as there are lots of non judgmental teenagers who are supportive and have a good time.
P.S Accept others, be yourself and don't worry about what others say..don't take anything personal. People who make negative comments usually have a personality issue...so it's their problem not yours ...Smile and learn..as life's one big learning curve...Health Question & Answer

Try taking a bath a couple of hours before bed, put a couple of drops of lavender oil in the bath put some music on and light some candles. Then just lay back and relax. I know it might sound kinda girly but trust me us girls are really on to something!!Health Question & Answer

Breathing exercises work a treat. also try tai chi or meditation I find these are also great if you find meditation boring like i kind of do you'll find tai chi to be just the thing look into it man it really helps Health Question & Answer
