Do I need qualifications to practise Indian head massage?!?!?!

Question: Do I need qualifications to practise Indian head massage.?!.?!.?
I want to practise Indian head massage, but I don't have the physiology and anatomy qualification. Is there a way round this.? (Loop holes etc...)Health Question & Answer

Answers:
Yes because you need to be aware of contraindications to treatment and the full list of benefits and so on...you also need to have some Anatomy and Physiology knowledge and to be confident that you are working on the correct areas so as to avoid causing anyone harm.Find out if there are any courses available in your area who will teach you all you need to know including the A & P. I also advise that when you are qualified to take out public liability insurance to cover yourself and your clients. Good luck.Health Question & Answer

If you want to practise Indian Head Massage you are advised to obtain a qualification in the therapy. Clients will be looking to see that you have attained a level of training and also be a member of a self-regulating body.

Have a look at the information given here which has some links to various massage therapies and information. If you are still unsure, try emailing one of the Indian Head Massage therapists and asking for some tips.

Sorry I think you need to be a Licensed massage therapist to practice any form of massage and charge money. That's just here in Utah I don't know where you live so I could be wrong. Good luck!Health Question & Answer
