Hi. The dosage answer depends on what it is being used for. I suffer from major depression and was taking klonopin to sleep. My new shrink wanted me to get off klonopin and switched me to seroquel, because it can make people sleepy. I started gradually and got up to 200 mg daily. So that is probably the max dosage just for insomnia.
Seroquel is generally used for bipolar disorder (BPD) and schizophrenia. Folks with BPD who are very depressed can work their way up to 300 mg/day. On rare occasions, they go higher.
Folks with BPD who are very manic generally take 400-800 mg/day. Seroquel is usually taken with other meds for BPD, like lithium. After a very depressed or manic state is over, the seroquel is reduced to a maintenance dose.
Folks with schizophrenia generally take 400-500 mg/day. Sometimes this dosage is increased to 800 mg. Later it can be reduced to a maintenance dose (which varies from person to person).

I'm not sure about that, but I do know it is very dangerous and there are lawsuits out on it. Be careful taking it.Health Question & Answer
