Pressure points to heal pain?!

Question: Pressure points to heal pain.?
I have always been quite intrigues with pressure points. Not the ones that knock a person out in self-defence, but ones that ease pain. I know that if someone rubs my hand between my thumb and first finger (about half an inch into the palm bit) it takes away my headache. It almost always works for me. Does anyone have any more info on other pressure points and even better, a link to a map on the body of them.? I have one in my shoulder (if I pinch my muscles between my neck and shoulder from the top) and it helps my stiff shoulder pain, albeit it bloody hurts while doing it! Many thanksHealth Question & Answer

Answers:
What you're talking about in your muscles between your neck and shoulder (trapezius) is a Trigger Point, a knot in the muscle to put it simply. Putting pressure on it can help to break up the knot as such. These knots can refer to other areas on the body, say down your arm, up to your head etc.

There are also specific pressure points in Traditonal Chinese medicine but that is something different and works differently. Health Question & Answer

Pressure point therapies include Chinese Meridians, Reflexology and Thai Sens lines.

The point you are referring to in the webbing between the thumb and index finger is an acupressure point called Hoku. The adrenal reflex point is also in that webbing.

You can get a Reflexology, Shiatsu, Thai Massage, or Acupressure session and your practitioner will be happy to show you some points to use at home between sessions.Health Question & Answer

I have a book on this topic which is actually called acupressure.
if you are so into this wonderful subject, why don't you invest in a book about it.?
The one I have is this one but you can choose which one you like:
