Question: What can go wrong with taking ecstasy tablets with hearts on them.?
Its my girlfriends 18th birthday next week and she mentioned she would like us both to take an ecstasy tablet that has a heart on it before. She has done drugs before but just experimental. she has had this drug before and was fine, im just a little weary of doing it and don't know wether to or not. whats the harm in trying it.?Health Question & Answer

The people who die on it had either a pre-existing physiological abnormality or take an excessive dose. You really should see a physician about the first point. Unless you have had a stress test in the past, there really is no way of knowing how much of this stimulant your body can handle. About the second point, the pills are made to satisfy the needs of regular users and to get novice users used to higher doses. The latter part is what ensures that the dealers can sell as much as they can. If you start at a lower dose (say 1/3 or 1/4 of a normal dose) you'll get pretty much the same effect. The difference is that it would take you a while to get to the point where you require an entire pill to have the same sensation. My point is that, it is really unnecessary to take an entire pill, especially given the risk associated with overdosing. If you do choose to do it (which I hope you think very carefully about) you should have someone sober monitor you so that if there's any sign of you over dosing, he or she can get you help.

Well the worst case is you could die. Street ecstasy is not regulated in any way and you really don't know what concentrations of chemicals are in it. Your body could overheat, and the drug affects your sensory perceptions in a way that you do not notice. Or you could try to drink a lot of water to avoid dehydration like some people do and actually "drown" your cells. It's not a good idea to do X.
Edit: I am not condemning recreational drug use. I am answering the question of "what could go wrong" and the reality is that xtc is a very dangerous drug. The very WORST thing that could happen is you could overheat. Drink plenty of water, and don't dance ALL night, and I this won't happen.

Not a good choice. It's soo bad for you and you could die even only taking it once. DONT DO IT. but everyones body is different and her body may be able to handle 1 or 2 times and yours might not be able to. Thats why she might have been fine. Plus, it makes you do stuff you would not do if you were normal.. I'm with everyone else. The worst cases are pretty bad. You could get really sick or die or get arrested.
