Make an appointment with your doctor or an orthopedic specialist. My advice is to avoid the chiropractor as they can do more harm than good!

Chiropractors have to believe that everything causes conditions that only they can fix so they can convince patients that we can't live comfortably without visits twice per week.

I had a stroke last year as a result of chiropractic treatment and have since made it a priority to raise awareness of the dangers of chiropractic care. Please visit this website to read my story and similar ones of other victims so you may be aware of the risks and make an informed decision about treatment.Health Question & Answer

If you have a good Chiropractor (like I do), then they are not a waste of money. I've just gone through treatment for whiplash. All I can tell you is the headaches are gone, I can sleep, and I can think straight. My motion (turning right or left) has returned.

A good doctor will do x-rays when you first come in and go over what they have found. They treat the whole person, not just your neck if that is what you are complaining about. Insurance plans such as BC/BS will cover monthly visits, but not usually injury treatments.Health Question & Answer

I have been going to a chiropractor for over 20 yrs. I will swear by them any day. Chiropractic treatments are natural healing process. They can not give you any meds for pain. It may take several treatments before you feel relief, but it is better than surgery that some doctors want to do all the time. My advice is go and at least get a free consultation if they offer it.Health Question & Answer

Sometimes they can help, if they are really using physiotherapy techniques rather than traditional chiro. My advice is to go to a proper licenced physiotherapist or doctor, who has had medical training. Chiro requires repeat business - thats why you'll hear people say that they have been seeing a chiropractor for years, and it works for them!

HECK YA!! But you have to make sure to find a good chiropractor. There are a lot of just "bone crackers" out there that can hurt you. Myself and my father have been under chiropractic care for years. My dad injured his back and could not walk. The doctors said that they would have to do surgery to get him walking again and still only a 70% chance. Mom took him to our chiropractor and he had him walking in 3 days and he's been walking ever since. That was 20 years ago.Health Question & Answer

My brother chose to have surgery over constantly spending his money on a chiropractor to pop is disks back in place. It turned out that one of them was pinching a nerve that was causing so much pain and after the surgery to correct that no more problem.Health Question & Answer

I'm a guy & it worked for me, however if my girlfriend went in there I'd watch the chiropractor, because I know her "tailbone's not outta whack!" The chiropractor does that to hot girls, I've seen it happen! He does it so he can feel up on her @$$!Health Question & Answer

I love the chiropractor. It's the cure-all.Health Question & Answer

for me it worked
but then therapy for me was mostly a TENS unit
and some massage, some cold shotsHealth Question & Answer

It is at least a possibility that a chiropractor could help with low back pain, but for a disk problem, I would seek a medical doctor or physical therapist. The problem is that most of them are not just there to treat your isolated aches and pains. They believe that they can cure and prevent anything and everything. They will convince you that they can only help you if you get treated every week, indefinitely. The big problem here is that they have a tiny bit of evidence that they can treat minor low back pain, but no evidence at all of anything else. I know a lot about chiropractic. I was recruited by a local chiro school while I was in my undergrad, glad I didn't go. I know a lot of people that are chiropractors, and I've been to them (not anymore). I would not waste any money on this if I were you.Health Question & Answer
