Having trouble sleeping :( . . . Any ideas?!


Question: Having trouble sleeping :( . . . Any ideas.?
I can't sleep I stare at the wall and can't stop my mind from running around and around. Then I am exhausted and sleep through my classes and I am falling behind.

I don't want to jump straight to sleeping pills cause pills usually affect me strongly.

A couple suggestions:

At night do breathing exercises. There is almost nothing that works as well as this. Lay on your back, close your eyes, put your hand on your stomach. Breath deeply in slowly, making your hand rise by filling your lungs which pooches out your stomach. Then, breathe slowly out, making your hand lower by pressing out the air (with your lungs, not your hand). If you need to catch your breath after a few then go ahead but try to stay controlled. After about the twentieth one you will notice that your thoughts are quieter, and you should fall asleep fairly easily.

During the day, take a B Complex vitamin to help your body deal with stress. Take it with food. also, get some good hard exercise during the day.

In the evening, don't eat sugar and sodas after 6pm, and make a bedtime ritual so you start to wind down before your breathing exercises.
