Bacterial Infections/Yeast Infections!!?? ?!

Question: Bacterial Infections/Yeast Infections!!.?.? .?
EVERY month I have an infection. Normally its bacterial infections that I cant seem to get rid of. I just recently got my first yeast infection and after 3 day monistat treatment I'm even more itchy than b4. I feel so bad b/c I have a boyfriend and our sex life sucks and its b/c of me. It gets me so depressed and I think that eventually he'll get sick of me never being able to have sex b/c I'm always using creams or taking a pill to get rid of an infection. He loves me and says its fine and that he understands but I can tell he's a little irritated by it.

How can I prevent infections.?.?!!! I wash regularly, i wear cotton underwear, I eat yogurt, I wipe front to bac, no scented soaps/perfumes down there, why is this happening to me.?.?!!Health Question & Answer

I'm willing to bet you've probably been on antibiotics before... it sounds like you have been rather low in probiotics for a while and yogurt just doesn't have enough to cut it for what you need.
I would suggest getting a good quality probiotic with at least 5-6 billion organisms from at least 3-4 different strains. The more, the better... but any more than 20 billion organisms may give you loose stools for a few days. At that kind of dosage, most people start feeling better within a few days and often feel much better within 2-3 weeks (depending on how bad it was to start with).

If you are currently taking an antibiotic, you would get the best benefit to finish that off and then start the probiotic... but if you want to get started sooner, just make sure you take them as far apart in the day as possible because the antibiotic will kill the probiotics too quickly if they are taken together. Good luck!Health Question & Answer
