Are energy drinks really all that bad??? Would One a day be overdoing it?!

Question: Are energy drinks really all that bad.?.?.? Would One a day be overdoing it.?
For about a week and a half now, around 5ish, I get extremely tired. I usually get home around 6:30 everyday, and I need energy for my Homework/The Gym. Would it be alright or no.? By the way, I don't get that crash feeling after drinking them either.Health Question & Answer

Energy drinks are not the best thing to take for your tiredness. They mainly get the energy hit from sugar and some have cafeine in them. The best way to boost your energy is from fruit. They have natural sugars that release into the bloodsteam slowly, as opposed to the "instant hit" the energy drinks have. The faster the energy hit, the lower your blood sugar will go after the intital spike. This could lead to diabetes eventually.
Around 4 pm is usually about the time when the body needs it's blood sugar "topped up" an orange or banana or an apple , maybe two pieces of fruit will stop the tiredness, and it's important to eat them around four BEFORE you get extremely tired. The drink is not a food, and it is only food which will boost your energy until you can get home to eat something more substantial. Hopefully, 2/3rds of your plate is vegetables and only about 1/3 meat.
A diet with very little fruit and veg will eventually lead to obesity and sickness, and you cannot perform at optimum levels without these natural energy boosters which have all the vitamins and minerals your body needs to perform at it's full potential. All the visits to the gym in the world, will never take the place of natures energy packed foods.

Health Question & Answer

One a day should be OK. But most people drink far more than that.Health Question & Answer

I agree with Angel mate ...... the artificial man made chemically processed sugar contained in those "energy" drinks will temporarily give you a boost but at a high price ....... processed sugar is addictive and you'll eventually want more and more ....... on top of that it contains no nutritional value whatsoever and will only serve to rob you of all your water soluble B complex of vitamins, vitamin C and the caffeine contained in them will inhibit the absorption of your calcium supplies .......... baaaah, ditch that nasty stuff and eat some low sugar fruits such as strawberries, watermelon, blueberries, blackberries, pears or cantalope............ and drink more fresh filtered water....... processed sugar is toxic sludge.
