How long after taking .5mg of Xanax is it safe to drink alcohol? I hardly ever take it so i'm just wondering ?!

if you dont plan on getting drunk or close to drunk then you are fine drinking right away. This is only if you are just looking for a relaxed feeling. If your talking about just 1 beer or shot then right after aswell. If you do plan on getting smashed then it's really not dangerous. You will most likely just pass out sooner than what you usually do from alcohol but the real dangerous part here of course is vomiting and choking. You should avoid drinking alcohol while the drug is affecting your body. So say for instance medication XYZ lasts for 4-6 hours. Unless told otherwise, you shouldn't drink for 4-6 hours.Health Question & Answer
