Can I mix ephedrine with 5-htp?!
Question: Can I mix ephedrine with 5-htp.?
They are both for weight loss but Im worried there might be an adverse reaction. I took 400 mg of 5-htp and about to take 20 mg ephedrine.Health Question & Answer

Actually, neither is for weight loss. 5-HTP is for rest and relaxation, Ephedra is a stimulant that helps you cough up stuff from your lungs.
Because Ephedra is a stimulant, some people may use it to get energy (similar to caffeine) that can be used to work out and that could help you lose weight. I've never heard of 5-HTP being used to lose weight at all... but I suppose if stress was causing weight gain, it does help a lot of people to lower stress, so it could help in that aspect. Of course, that's a very specific requirement for the weight gain to have it help you lose weight.
That being said, I would advise that you not take them together... taking a stimulant and a sedative together is generally not a good idea, not to mention how harsh Ephedra is on your system. Good luck with everything!Health Question & Answer

I wouldn't because it could have long term side-affects. Ephedrine can give you heart/liver problems and who know what will happen when you mix it with something else. Be safe and try to find something herbal that isn't known for poisoning your system.Health Question & Answer
