UF or BU for Masters of Public Health?!

Question: UF or BU for Masters of Public Health.?
I am starting school this January so I am kind of pressed for time to decide on the school that I want to go to. The program is an MPH concentrating on Health care management and policy. I would like to do health care consulting and eventually be involved in management of a big department in a hospital. I am also interested in getting my PhD and teaching.

University of Florida is a 4 semester program, and will cost me about $40K, but its not accredited by the CEPH (their expecting accreditation in July but thats just speculation), they are more focused on the government sector, and it is in the middle of nowhere (gainesville). For undergrad UF ranked number 49 on the news and world report, but not ranked for grad since the MPH program is not accredited yet.

Boston University is a 3 semester program, it will cost about 65K, is accredited by the CEPH, is in boston. For undergrad it is ranked number 60, and 13 for graduate.

I went to NYU for undergrad and unfortunately have 100K in loans after that. I basically have to decide ASAP, but I can't make a decision. I am also applying to Georgetown, Yale, and Columbia, in the hopes of transfering in the Fall.

Thanks for your help in advance.Health Question & Answer

I would go to BU since it is an accredited program and you will get out into the workforce a semester earlier so you will start making money earlier where you can start paying down those loans.

The difference of a 4 semester program at $40k and a 3 semester program at $65k is a wash if you consider that if you graduate a semester earlier, you will be making a paycheck that fourth semester.

So the only difference is that one has an accredited and established program that is ranked and the other does not. So I would go with the one that is accredited and established.Health Question & Answer
