Load up on vitamin B and B12 both are good for both ADD and ADHD. also you can go to WebMd and they are very helpful on that site. My grandson, who is 5 has adhd and we choose not to give the meds. also, stay away from foods and drinks that have red dye in them. Good luck.Health Question & Answer

L-Tyrosine - stimulant - helps you to concentrate - don't take at night - can cause shakiness if dose is too high - listen to your body and taper dose accordingly - split capsule if necessary
L-Theanine - relaxant, but doesn't make you sleepy - helps your brain to focus by stimulating the Alpha wave brain patterns - currently undergoing clinical trials in Canada as an add/adhd medication
5htp - relaxant - relieves irritability and stress and any depression that you may have as a result of the add - helps you to sleep at night if you're feeling hyper and unable to relax
Magnesium - has been shown to help with add
Iron - be careful not to take too much - can be toxic in overdosage
Vitamin B complex
Omega 3 - buy a good quality one - the cheaper ones don't work
Rhodiola Rosea (Siberian Golden Root) - helps concentration, also helps with stress
Ginkyo Biloba - improves blood supply to the brain and sharpens thinking/concentration - This helped me after I suffered from memory loss after being on antidepressant.
Avoid ALL orange juice/fruit!
Avoid ALL artificial sweeteners, colours, additives
Avoid MSG
Try to take plenty of fluids - dehydration makes add/adhd worse

My eldest son suffers from adhd and we're currently trying him on some of these supplements.

Consult a doctor if you suffer from any ill health/take medication as some of them may not be appropriate for you.Health Question & Answer
