What is a natural alternative to prescription sinus nasal spray?!
Question: What is a natural alternative to prescription sinus nasal spray.?
I've been on Nasacort for sometime and every time I run out and don't refill it I get a major sinus infection, but I'm tired of putting steroids in my body everyday. I would like something natural, even if it's just an herb for sinuses. Thanks!Health Question & Answer

Nasacort is a steroid, as you know.
Being a steroid it decreases the immune response/inflammation. It actually lowers the immune response to infection. So you would be more likely to get a major sinus infection while taking nasacort.
You getting a major sinus infection every time you run out suggests that you have allergies.
The only nasal spray that comes to my mind that doesn't have a drug in it but treats things is saline nasal spray.
If you are sick of suffering from allergies and you don't want to take a steroid I'd recommend
1) an antihistmaine (claritin...benadryl will make you sleepy)
2) find out what you are allergic to and remove it
3) you can try the saline nasal spray....it is drug free
4) survive with a pulgged up nose

put a pot of water on the stove and heat it up so it starts giving off vapor- sit down and cover your head with a towel and take in the steam; this makes you feel better and clears up the congestion. for quick relief try taking a spicy tea that you can drink hot- this helps tooHealth Question & Answer
