Sore throat and a mild fever?!
Question: Sore throat and a mild fever.?
I really need to get better for school tomorrow but I don't know how. My throat really hurts when I swallow and my temperature is usually around 100 degrees. I've tried gurgling salt water, drinking some tea, getting a warm bath, and I've sucked on tons of cough drops. Is there anything else I can do.? I know honey works but I don't have any at my house right now.

Answers:
you can try drinking something with lemon in it. The citrus helps your body produce saliva and coats your throat. You can also take some Tylenol to help with the fever. You can always continue gurgling warm salt water in the morning and at night. That will help kill bacteria that may be causing the soreness. Get lots of rest, and if that doesn't seem to help and you really need to go to school tomorrow you can take the Tylenol throughout the day and use Chloroseptic throat spray. I also found some numbing throat drops made by Cepacol that really work well. If you don't feel any better, or you feel worse within a few days, you should go see a doctor, it could easily be strept throat.Health Question & Answer
