They all help, and having read the answers so far, I would like to remind everybody that beauty comes literally from within! Nourishing the body with healthy food, adequate amount of pure water and enough sleep are the keys to radiant skin.

I wouldn't advice anyone to stick with one vitamin only, as this can disturb the delicate balance of body systems. For instance, low iron level of blood is not always lack of iron- it can be lack of copper. So, adding more iron makes you lack more other vital micronutrients, which masks as iron deficiency. This is only an example.

To have a really radiant skin and great energy level, you need to take EFA's- all the cells of the human body need them for proper functioning. In addition, EFA's moisturise the skin from within, they make you brainier, and since they are essential for good metabolsim, they can even help with losing weight.

Vitamins and minerals that protect the skin from the harmful inside and outside factors are Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Selenium, Sulfur (MSM), Zinc. Essential Fatty Acids (EFAs) and water play crucial role in skin care as well.

- Collagen is glue that keeps our body together. It provides firmness to our skin.

Vitamin C plays an essential role in the formation of collagen. Collagen formation is also dependent on sulfur. Skin collagen decreases with age. In order to keep the skin firm and young it is essential to take Vitamin C and MSM (sulfur) supplements.

- Vitamin E used in ointments can help reduce the appearance of scars. Creams with Vitamin E can protect the skin from UV damage. Vitamin E taken as a supplement can protect the skin from free radicals attack.

- Keratin is another major component in the skin. It is also present in the hair and nails. Without Vitamin A a condition called keratosis can develop. This causes flaky, rough skin that resembles "goose flesh". Hence Vitamin A is another supplement to take for healthy looking skin.Health Question & Answer
