Does tea help concentration?!

Question: Does tea help concentration.?
I saw a commercial this morning for Lipton tea claiming it helps concentration.
Is this true.?
Could tea substitute the medicines kids with ADD take to help concentration.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
Lipton tea does contain caffeine. For an adult this is a stimulant. For hyperactive kids, it sometimes helps calm them down. Tea made from the Camelia sininsus plant is also a good source of L-theanine, an amino acid known to help with anxiety. For this reason, tea might help with concentration that is hindered by anxious thoughts.

I would not recommend giving tea to kids as a substitute for ADD meds. No way. There are some herbs & supplements that can help, though. Specifically fish oil added to the diet & an herbal combination containing catnip. Do some research, talk to the person responsible for the child's healthcare and if you do decide to try alternative's be sure to make the change gradually.Health Question & Answer
