I have a small bump in my armpit...?!

Question: I have a small bump in my armpit....?
I shaved last night, so it is possible that was the cause. It is small, not even the size of a pea. It is a bit red, and hurts when something presses against it. I have had something like this beforem but it has never been red, so i guess it is good that it is.? It is almost like a pimple, but not really as out there if you know what i mean. any tips for shaving if thats wat its from.? thanksHealth Question & Answer

Watch it carefully. If it doesn't go away in a few days, I would have it looked at by your doctor or ask for a referral to a dermatologist. It could be cancerous if it changes or it could be something as simple as a blemish. I was concerned when you described it as a bump under your arm. If you are female, then this could be an indication of breast cancer. However, if it's red, it probably isn't that. I don't want to alarm you, I just want to be careful and get yourself informed about this "bump."Health Question & Answer

It might be than a hemangioma which is a new formation of capillaries under the skin, but they usually do not cause pain.

Another possibility is a swollen lymph node. Wait a couple of days, to see if the redness and pain go away. make an appointment with your doctor; swollen lymph nodes in the arm pit are a strong sign of breast cancer.Health Question & Answer

Sounds like an ingrown hair or a slight infection. Watch it for a few days and don't wear deodorant under that arm. If it gets worse see your doctor.Health Question & Answer
