Benzyl Peroxide and Benzyl Alcohol - what's the difference?!

Question: Benzyl Peroxide and Benzyl Alcohol - what's the difference.?
I am allergic to Benzyl Peroxide. It makes my face look like a red tomatoe. However, I was wanting to try an Avon dermabrasion product which has Benzyl Alcohol in it. I'm wondering if it is similar or the same.?

also, if they are similar, Benzyl Peroxide is supposed to make you age faster - is this also true of Benzyl alcohol.? Thanks!Health Question & Answer

Answers:
I'm not an expert on this or anything, but maybe it's the peroxide that you're allergic to. Pour some peroxide that you can get at your local drugstore on a cotton swab, and run it over your face. If you get the same results, you're allergic to peroxide. Plus, Benzyol Peroxide is extremely drying on the skin, which is why it's used for acne. That could also be why your face looks like a red tomato.

All in all, ask your dermatologist or doctor, OR a pharmacist, they'll give you all the answers you'll need!
