Dont read this if you don't want to hear a gross question about intestinal parasites in humans!?!

Question: Dont read this if you don't want to hear a gross question about intestinal parasites in humans!.?
Ok, this is really gross and embarrassing but at least I don't know any of you in real life....

I usually eat very healthy, but it's mostly raw fruits and veggies, which I know parasites can easily come from.
For a month or so I'd had little light red chunks in my pooh, about 1/16 inch to 1/8 inch or so.. I figured it was just something I've been eating.
Today during my morning BM i noticed my pooh was kind of stuck together by something like strings.. Initially i just thought I swallowed a hair or something weird like that.. or maybe something I ate. But later on, I had the same thing again, and there seemed to be a few of them.. So I'm pretty sure I have some type of intestinal parasite (ew, gross, but apparently up to 50% of all humans have them).. Too big to be pinworms I think (about 1 inch or more and thin)... One I could see seemed to look like a piece of white grass, and they go from thick to thin and look like they might divide at the end like a Y.
I haven't had any itching... Well except now that I've been reading about it and imagining it... eww... I can't seem to find any pictures that look like what I saw....
I think I've noticed like "fibres" before but I figured it was just my food...

I've also been having a cramp in the same spot for about 3 weeks that I thought was maybe a cyst... could they be related.?

I have a dr. appt. in 2 weeks... Should I wait until then or go to the clinic asap.?
I can't stop imagining them crawling out at night.... EWW

Sorry to gross anyone out!Health Question & Answer

Its definitely possible that you have a parasite. I had a parasite a couple summers ago, and I never felt pain in such a way in any other time in my life. I thought I was actually going to die! If you are having a lot of diarrhea that looks like it has mucus on it, you probably have a parasite.
It doesn't sound like you're in horrid pain, so you probably don't need to see the doctor too urgently. If you are experiencing any sudden weight loss or dizziness, you should head on in to the doctor. I hope this helps. Feel better!Health Question & Answer

Get it checked out as soon as you can. Just so that you can be sure you are safe and that you do not pass it on to your family.

Try to get rest because stress can weaken your immune system and it could also even give you diarrhea or constipation, two things you probably don't need right now.Health Question & Answer

First: Go see a doctor! Intestinal parasites are rather common and can be treated fairly easily.

Second: Do NOT treat this by yourself like another member suggested. Parasites can respond differently to medications. You also need to know the type of parasite you have to see how serious the infection is.

Your doctor's visit will be routine (at least for him) so don't worry about going!Health Question & Answer

i dont think waiting 2 weeks is the best idea. try getting in sooner.? the reason why being the intestinal parasites consume a lot of the proteins, vitamins, and minerals that you consume and it could make you very sick.

you need medications to get the little guys out of there. i would say go to the emergency room. those little things can cause some serious problems later, like cramping. plus, they can multiply and it would take longer for them to get out.Health Question & Answer

its OK,i think you have roundworms:if you feel bad, well just get yourself de-wormed!
the medication is available without prescription!
tell the pharmacist, you are buying it for your little brother/sister.
i seen this name:vermox
the main ingredient should be piperazine(i use this for my dogs)
other dewormer used for humans and animals:Fenbendazole-this one kills a big range of parasites!Health Question & Answer
