What kind of poison do brown recluse spiders carry?!
Question: What kind of poison do brown recluse spiders carry.?
Do we have a name for the toxin/poison that the brown recluse carries, that causes the symptoms when somebody gets bitten.?
I can't find ANYthing on the internet about it, only that it is poisonous and causes a large ugly mark with localized cell death, nausea, fatigue, malaise and fever.
Hopefully someone answers this question unlike my last one :(Health Question & Answer

Answers:
Brown recluse spider (genus Loxosceles) venom contains sphingomyelinase D which causes dermal necrosis. The article by Binford et al, Sphingomyelinase D from venoms of Loxosceles spiders: evolutionary insights from cDNA sequences and gene structure (2nd reference below talks about the venom in detail.
