Answers:
Thousands of drugs that work in animals do not work in humans. Thousands of experiments the work in the lab do not work in the real world. That's just the nature of research.

But let's say that these animal experiments were to bear fruit. You would likely be looking at 10 years from this stage to availability for late-stage cancers of a very particular sort. That's generally how it goes. A few years for each phase of clinical studies, and there are typically 3 phases.

I can guarantee you that using a bacterium to "cure cancer" will absolutely not involve giving the person raw chicken.Health Question & Answer

Salmonella is a pretty nasty sickness, but beats dying of cancer.
You couldn't guarantee of course that the chicken would have salmonella.
Hope they pursue this - it would be great if it worked. But it sounds a bit too easy to be true - and I'm almost certain it would only work on certain types of cancer and then only some of the time (like GI cancers of colon and stomache - otherwise how would it get to other areas.?)Health Question & Answer

I think it would take a long time.. maybe 25 years or more. i dont know the process of the experiment. I dont think they would allow people to just eat raw chicken and hope for salmonella. I am sure there would me a more medical advancement to giving somone salmonella...like an injection or something.Health Question & Answer

I have a returning question, not necessarily to the asker, if things we test on rats won't generally work on humans then.. omg! that would kind of go against the whole deal of animal testing. If it probably won't work on humans then it should not be tested on animals.Health Question & Answer

If it works on mice it doesn't necessarily work on humans.Health Question & Answer

no, no and no.Health Question & Answer

Trust me, you do not want to come down with Salmonellaosis. It wouldn't be fun and a cancer patient could die because they have a weakened immune system as it is.

I've never heard they were looking at salmonella as a cancer cure. However, usually when bacteria or viruses are used to make medicine or vaccinations, only parts or substances produced by these bugs are used for the actual medication. I don't think that a cancer cure would involve getting food poisoning.Health Question & Answer

no but it has meritHealth Question & Answer

Just cause it's worked on rats doesn't mean it will come to Humans. Cancer is a complicated Disease. It grows and heals itself rapidly and you have to make it sick to kill it. But it can't get sick so that's where we are stuck.

It was Rats that it worked on by the way. rats from Brazil... a special rat...Health Question & Answer

no, do NOT eat raw chicken too get salmonella! this can kill u!Health Question & Answer
