Could i have Lupus? and what will could happen if i do?!

Question: Could i have Lupus.? and what will could happen if i do.?
The doctors thought i had lupus a long time ago (there were some irregularities in some blood work that indicated an auto-immune disorder) and they never diagnosed me for sure. I never feel well and i would really like some answers. Here are my symptoms:
*Swelling around my ankle bones
*Stiff joints
*Tired most of the time(getting worse. its getting hard to think)
*Extremely sensitive to the sun (probably photodermatitis)
*Chest pain upon deep breathing (on and off)

And I'm not sure if these things could be related but I thought I'd just throw it out there.
*Itchy dry skin on the sides of my face by my ears
*Stomach pain(since i was a toddler)

I know this is a lot to consider but if anyone has any insight it would be deeply appreciated.
Thank you.Health Question & Answer

Answers:
Did your blood contain ANA's.? (Anti-nuclear antibodies, the ones your body makes that are supposed to attack bad cells, but instead, they can't tell the difference between your good and bad ones, so they attack all of them!) This would indicate an auto-immune disease. The problem is that so many of the auto-immune diseases overlap in their symptoms, and the symptoms can even be there for an amount of time, then disappear, and new symptoms come on. It's frustrating, and the doctors probably didn't want to label you with anything, because they themselves didn't really know which disease it was. Well, Lupus could be it, but if you've had a lupus test, I'd say no, if it came back negative. You said the doctors "thought" you had it. Well, let me ask you if your eyes or your mouth get really dry.? If so, that along with your symptoms could be Sjogren's Syndrome. It is known for dry mouth and dry eyes, BUT in some cases, it can affect the Central Nervous System, which happened to my daughter. Fatigue, painful joints, hard to swallow, Raynauds (feet or hands getting icy cold and turning purple), sensitive to light, chest pain, heavy palpitations, rashes, swelling eyelids, fuzzy mind, can't concentrate. (They never really diagnosed my daughter, either!)

You can see that I've listed more symptoms than you said you've had,
but it could be a place to start. I wish you good luck!Health Question & Answer

No one can say that you don't have it for sure because everyone has a different set of sypmtoms. Yours sound a lot like mine. especially the skin stuff, I have something like that and it is called discoid lupus. I have two kinds. systemic and discoid. Ask your doctor to test for anti nuclear anitbodies. That is a red flag in the testing for lupus. If you don't get treated for lupus, if that is what it is, it could kill you. I know mine got very close and I was only 14.Health Question & Answer

It could be that you have a chemical intolerance. Many people have an intolerance to MSG. A lot of companies are taking this
chemical out of soups etc. Some people swell up from eating this chemical. It makes your joints hurt, such as your knees. It swells your ankles, knees and stomach and makes you very tired.
Some people get lose stools as soon as 15 minutes after consuming this substance.
It is supposed to be a flavor enhancer. Read labels it is in many food items. Allergies are sometimes hard to diagnose.Health Question & Answer

i have lupus and you dont ,you probably have cancer.Health Question & Answer

In March I will have been living with lupus for 5 years. Your symptoms sound very familiar to what I had when I was diagnosed. The first thing you need to do is go to your primary physician and talk to him/her. Your primary doctor can run some if not all of the blood work. If he/she feels that your blood work is out of sorts then you can get a referral to a rheumatologist (lupus doctor). A rhuematologist will be able to give you a more definite answer.

Until then here are some hints to deal with your problems:

Stiff Joints: Try tylenol for arthritis
Tired: If possible try to get in a nap, even if it is for 15 mins, just lay there and do nothing
Sun Sensitivity: Wear sunblock even in the winter. Wear a hat or carry an umbrella and use that as shade.
Chest Pain: if it feels more like you pulled a muscle around your rib cage area try using a heating pad with a moist washcloth or hand towel
Itchy Skin: Try using a lotion for extremely dry skin
