Question: I have a mole on my hand that seems to have grown larger literally overnight...is this a sign of skin cancer.?
I did not notice it until I was showering tonight.The light was low,and I tried to 'wash' it off,not realizing it was my mole,only now bigger than it was.I am scared,as I am at a high risk for malignant melanoma.My dad has had some removed,and we are Irish with really fair skin.I am going to call a dermatologist tomorrow.Is there anyone who could help me with some advice please.?It is on the top of my hand.Health Question & Answer

A mole that changes shape and/or color should be seen by your doctor. If you see a dermatologist first he'll probably order blood test to be done anyway, You might have just accidently bumped or scratched your mole. If you have freckles check them over too But get a check-up ASAPHealth Question & Answer
If its diameter is larger than that of a pencil eraser or its color isn't consistent then I would see a dermatologist, otherwise I would just relax.Health Question & Answer
