Crying from an asthma attack?!

Question: Crying from an asthma attack.?
So the deal is, I am a 17 year old female athlete with severe asthma. Without inhalers, my airways are open 60%. Thankfully, they are around 90% when fully medicated. Until today I had only had one asthma attack in my life, but today I managed to have two within an hour (we got into trouble at softball and were doing copious amounts of sprinting... like 5 minutes straight sprints). So, I had two about 20 min apart and they weren't just wheezy cough, more like EE EE EE noise and all I could do was say the f word and try to not pass out.

Anyways, I am most definitely not a crybaby, but both times it seemed that I started crying during my asthma attack. Not sobbing oh my gosh I am so scared, but my eyes started watering terrible and I had the sniffles afterwards... sooo my question is does anyone know of why that is.? Is it my body (cuz it was not my conscious brain!) telling me it was freaked out orrr was it just in relation to the breathing troubles.?Health Question & Answer

Hey, I also suffer from severe asthma. Sometimes I tear up during an attack, but usually just from straining to breathe. Advice: you shouldn't have kept running after your first one! Obviously you're not familiar with your body during an attack. You don't just recover and have another one. You were having a continuous attack that flared up twice. You should have stopped after the first flare up. The tears were probably caused by a combination of anxiety and strain. Next time take a breather!Health Question & Answer

You seems to be stressed,. Relax. If the doc advises please get hospitalised for few days. When the asthma is under control, do regular meditation, breathing exercises and use medication whenever you doubt an attack is around. Stop crying and think about happy moments and tryu to be cheerful.Health Question & Answer
