What should I do about my allergies?!

Question: What should I do about my allergies.?
I've got allergies right now and they are terrible. I could blow my nose for an hour and snot would still be coming out! It sucks! My nose is sore from being blown and its stuffed even when I blow it. I feel like my head is a balloon and my eyes are about to pop out of my skull. I was taking benadryl but I don't like the cotton mouth that it gives and it makes me tired and dizzy. Whats a natural way to lessen the symptoms of allergies.?

Oh and another question. Is it normal to get a slight fever when your allergies kick in.? I usually get one.
Anyways! Thanks!Health Question & Answer

Defiantly get tested for allergies. I really helps to know what you are allergic to. also for the congestion I use what is called a Netti pot. You fill it with salt and warm water, stick it up your nose and tilt your head over a sink and let the water drain out the other side of your nose. Then continue with the other side as well. It sounds uncomfortable but really isn't. It helps clean out your nose and allows you to breathe. You can get it at a natural foods store like Elliot's or Whole Foods. Hope this helps!
Oh, and I've never heard of getting a fever with bad allergies. I would ask the allergist about that when you get tested.Health Question & Answer

Depends on what triggers your allergies. Benadryl is a heavy, knockout style drug like cough medicine - you can't take it all the time and function well. Consider a "one-a-day" pill like Zyrtec instead.

I suffer from bad grass, pet and mold allergies and have been undergoing shots for the past 2 years. Basically they inject me with trace amounts of the allergens every week to build up my immunities. You need health insurance to get this sort of treatment however.Health Question & Answer

It sound like you need a netty pot. It is all natural and it helps to relieve al that congestion. Some saline spray helps as well. If you are getting a fever then you probably have a sinus infection, allergies should not cause a fever unless their is an infection somewhere.Health Question & Answer

You should go to the doctor and ask them to do and allergy test! That way they can tell you what you're allergic to and you can avoid them.Health Question & Answer
