Hey Im 15 ( 16 in Nov ) I may need to have my tonsil removed but Im a little worried about it, I know there a bigger risks due to age and Im also a singer, will this have an affect on my singing .?

You'll be fine. i had mine taken out when i was 17. Recovering sucked for me, but i stayed pretty drugged up. you wont be able to eat much. My doctor recommended krystals. i think w/o the pickles, something about the bread helping the scabs fall off (its gross, i know)

I don't think your age is a factor you are still quite young. However some people do say it changes their voice and you will not be able to eat solid foods for a week or more. I was 23 when it was suggested that I have my tonsils removed. At first I agreed to do it and then after doing more research backed out. It's a serious operation with serious risks. Weigh the pros and cons and see what you think is best.Health Question & Answer
