Could I have a yeast infection?!

Question: Could I have a yeast infection.?

I've never delt with this before so I'm not sure. I'm 19 and I recently started having sex, as of a few months ago. Since last week, I'm having this iching down there and a whiteish, speck kinda discharge. It looked like dried bits of toilet paper at first but it's not that. There is no odor or anything else, and it burns a little when I pee. I just had my insurance run out so I can't afford a doctor visit. I'm thinking about going on birth controll pills and going down to the planned parenthood for that, could they check for the yeast infection.? How much money do they useually charge.? Help please! Thanks.Health Question & Answer

Answers:
I'm pretty sure you have a yeast infection. Yes they can check for that. Planned parenthood is for everything sexual and everything down there.

Pap smears, yeast infections, birth control and std's.

When you go there, just tell them that you currently don't have any insurance and if there's a program you can get on.

They'll want to know if you work, and how much money you make. But they're pretty good at getting you on a program for it since when you're there, it's kind of mandatory for what you need.

I know if you're in california, the program they'll put you on is free. You won't be charged anything. But every state is different.

symptoms of a yeast infection generally include:
dry, uncomortable feeling "down there" when having sex
itchy genitals
white cottage cheese like discharge
i'm sure they could check for a yeast infection (plus any other stds your worried about), call a few places up in your area and see how much they charge. but the white flakey things could just be a sign of dryness or irritation (i get those some times). the burning could be urinary tract infection.Health Question & Answer

Yes planned parenthood will check for that. You may have a small yeast infection so you should get it cleared up before it gets worse. I used to go to planned parenthood and they dont charge much. I believe its around $80 or so.Health Question & Answer
