Am I going to have a heart attack?!


Question: Am I going to have a heart attack.?
How can i know if i am a heart attack waiting to happen.? I want to excercise, but i don't really know if it's going to kill me or not. I'm 6 foot 3 inches tall, 30 years old, about 20 kg overweight. I eat a lot of junk food and don't excercise much and i want to know if my arteries are all clogged up and if it is dangerous for me to excercise or not. I also want to know if there are ways to 'unclog' my arteries. Thanks.Health Question & Answer

Sounds like U are eating your way to the grave. Exercise, all you need is a brisk walk 30 minutes a day, cut down on salt, sugar and fats. Get a blood test done and check your blood pressure, Total cholesterol level, HDL/LDL and triglycerides. This will tell you if you need a Cholesterol lowering drug to help.
Most of the US casualties from war show artery blocking from the wrong diets, so you are not alone.
By all means enjoy life and you can have that KFC or Mc Donald's Junk food once a week.
If your arteries are starting to clog there is nothing much you can do but stabilise the damage already done, although the "PRITICAN DIET" which is 100% vegetarian had some that reversed.
Nowadays they can do a High Definition CAT SCAN of your arteries which is not like the old Angiograms where they went up through the artery in the groin (mostly) then viewed the damage with Xrays after injecting a dye into your blood.

go to your dr. ask him for a referral for a cardiologist to get a "thallium stress test" or "regular stress test" done. also an echocardiogram.
these tests should rule out CAD. in the meantime, eat healthy lots of fruits and vegetables, lots of cranberry juice , V8, and drink unflavoured COD liver oil, and eat lots of fish. Health Question & Answer

What you need to do is change your lifestyle.

Start with your diet.

Limit your in take on junk food.

Drink at least 8-10 glasses of water daily.

Start taking a quality multivitamin.

Consume plenty of fruits and veggies.

Start out with exercising 15 minutes a day (low-moderate exercise)

Work your way up slowly to 1/2 hour - 45 minutes.

A quality Omega 3 can also help.

the best thing you could do is to change your lifestyle and make it to a healthy one..i see that you are starting to make an effort by trying to exercise but if you're worried that vigorous activities could trigger a heart attack see your doctor..honestly, you've got the predisposing factors thaht could lead to a heart attack if you'll not take it seriously..

do just like the commercials say, start slowly and consult a physician before starting any dietary or exercise regimen. You're only 30 and not incredibly overweight, you should be fine. More veggies, less grease and mild to moderate exercise.Health Question & Answer
