Does anyone one else have a severe obsessive compulsive disorder? I know I only have myself to blame but..?!

Question: Does anyone one else have a severe obsessive compulsive disorder.? I know I only have myself to blame but...?
I've ruined my life because of it and one of the many bad things that happened was me and my boyfriend split up because it wasn't fair for him to be put through it. I just want to know how other sufferers discipline themselves.Health Question & Answer

i dont have ocd but i want to offer a suggestion, if you're open to ideas. i believe you can reverse the symptoms.

it is an issue of mind over matter. it IS possible to score a victory against ocd! one at a time, try to scale back the magnitude of your habits. if you must do everything in a very specific order, for example, try to change one of the details. be a rebel against your ocd, because giving up is a senseless option!

Try to change one thing per day! realize that these changes you are making are a perfect symbol of you improving yourself.

you have to believe in yourself, so be proud that you are determined to discipline yourself. with hard work, you will be able shut ocd out for good.

don't believe that you have a chemical imbalance in your brain. this is nonsense and has no scientific basis. i am ready to argue that if you are confident and determined to overcome this problem, you will.

my experience is in psychology. i am confident this can work, but do you think it will.?Health Question & Answer

You are NOT to blame. You have a chemical imbalance in your brain. You are no more to blame for your chemical imbalance than a "little person" is to blame for being short.

Talk to your doctor and make an appointment with a psychotherapist. OCD is treatable.Health Question & Answer

why do you have yourself to blame for having a medical condition.? you should see a therapist and a psychologist as therapy and meds could help you a lotHealth Question & Answer

You are not to blame as no one chooses to have such a condition. Without specific examples of OCD tendencies it would hard to advise you on how to deal with this.Health Question & Answer
