Diarrhoea for 12 days?!
Question: Diarrhoea for 12 days.?
I had a bad back so my doctor prescribed anti inflammatory drugs. After 2 days of taking them I had severe cramps and diarrhoea - 9 times in 24 hours - so went back to him and he gave me something else as I obviously have an intolerance to them. I haven't taken the others yet as for the last 12 days now it just hasn't settle down. I have had severe cramps and diarrhoea within 2 hours of eating. It is at least 2-3 times a day. No other symptons or signs of blood so what can I do to settle my stomach please.?.?.?Health Question & Answer

Doctors. Immediately.
Three is obviously either a severe bowel infection, or you have a severe reaction to the anti-inflammatories. Whichever it is, you will now be very dehyrdrated and should go and see your doctor and explain everything immediately. Pepto Bismol will not do the trick.
The doctor will be able to prescribe you something such as lomotil which will help with the diarhhoea. In the meantime make sure you are drinking plenty of electrolytes to replace the hydration being lost by your body via the diaorrhea.
